Latin American dancing is fun, energetic, and sexy. It is a great form of exercise and, when done properly, can look extremely impressive on the dance floor.
Cha Cha Cha: This is a cheeky dance that is fast with a number of different foot changes.
Rumba: This is a slow an sensual dance with plenty of foot changes and arm lines.
Jive: The Jive is a fast and lively style with chasse’s, kicks and flicks.
Paso Doble: In this dance, the man dances as the Bull Fighter and the lady is the Cape. The dancers act out a Bull Fight with the music.
Samba: The Samba is a lively dance that is full of ‘rotating hips.’ Lots of body work and changing of rhythm is required for this dance.
Salsa and Mambo: These styles come from the Caribbean and are closely linked to many of the other Latin American dances. You dance the Salsa and Mambo holding your partner closely. The Salsa and Mambo are often danced in clubs on small dance floors and include lots of arm changes and steps. It is an extremely social dance style, and has become very popular recently.
